Premium White Elastomeric Roof Coating

DESCRIPTION: Kool Roof Bright White Elastomeric Coating is a premium grade, water-based, acrylic elastomeric, “rubber-like” roof coating. By enhancing this product with ceramic; abrasion resistance, durability and life expectancy are greatly increased. When properly applied as part of the Kool Roof Coating System, this product is highly resistant to cracking, chalking, mildew and discoloration. Easily applied with brush, roller or airless spray equipment; it provides a highly protective barrier which will reflect the damaging heat and destructive UV rays from the sun. High solar reflectance can have a significant effect on reducing roof temperatures, which can lead to a reduction of interior temperatures. Kool Roof should be considered an investment that can pay for itself by extending the useful life of your roof and reducing your cooling costs.
SURFACE PREPARATION: All unnecessary and non-functional equipment must be removed from the roof. The substrate must be pressure washed ( Kool Roof Roof Wash). A minimum working pressure of 1,500 psi should be used to remove all dirt, dust and previous paints & coatings, which are delaminating. Thoroughly rinse roof surface after cleaning. A standard agricultural pump-up sprayer can be used along with a deck brush to clean the roof, after which the roof must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Do not allow Kool Roof Roof Wash to dry on the roof. If the roof has an excess amount of oil or grease, scrubbing with a deck brush may be needed.
PRIMING: All surfaces are to be primed first to promote the long- term performance of the Kool Roof System. Non-metal surfaces are to be primed with Kool Roof . Roof Prime This deep penetrating sealant will flow into cracks and crevices of concrete, capsheet, asphalt, masonry, BUR, single-ply and other aged roofing materials. Metal surfaces are to be primed with Kool Roof Metal Primer, which is a zinc rich, red iron oxide metal primer.
PATCHING and REPAIRS: Patching and repairs are to be made using Kool Roof Brushable Caulk and Kool Roof Poly4. Kool Roof Brushable Caulk is a brush grade acrylic elastomeric caulk. It is applied with a paint brush which can be used alone or to encapsulate the Kool Roof Poly4. Kool Roof Poly4 is a polyester reinforcing fabric that is used to make repairs to gaps larger than 1/8 inch or other problem areas such as, seams, flashing, fasteners, vent stacks, chimneys, skylights, splits, cracks, gaps and holes.

Apply an initial coat over all seams, joints and repaired areas. Allow to dry for one hour and then apply two (2) uniform coats over the entire roof surface, avoiding excessive rolling. A minimum of two (2) coats are needed for all applications. Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first coat. Allow at least 24 hours between coats. DO NOT apply to any areas where ponding water exists. This product can also be applied with airless spray equipment, 3,000 psi .631 tip. NOTE: If the roof becomes too hot (over 95°F/ 35°C) during application, it is recommended to delay further application until the next morning when surface temperatures are cooler. Excessive roof temperatures may cause blistering of the coating.
